So welcome Tall Guy From Wisconsin, Guy With A View Of The Sears Tower, and Guy Whose Back Hurts (although *you* sir, I daresay, probably would be better distracted from your back pain if you would just try the teriyaki sauce in your eye). It's nice to see you here! I mean, it'd be better if you were Canadian (cause we all know how I feel about that), but still...
Anyone else I missed?
You'll find stuff's kind of haphazard here, I've not been sleeping very well lately (which means the SOTDs have gone walkabout) and work has been pretty time-consuming (so I've been coming home and going to sleep...although not very successfully, as I said above [see...above]). Sometimes my sass-mouth readers chastize me for not writing more regularly. Sometimes I listen to them. It's a give and take relationship.
So there you go. Random and inconsistent, that's how I roll. I figure if you put me in your collection of 157 other websites to check every day, you probably should only have to do, what, 2-3 hours of work each day, max?
I think that's fair.

Dear guy whose back hurts;
Hope you're feeling better! I'm glad you got a laugh--that's really what I'm here for--on earth, not just on the internet--to provide random entertainment for people who google random crap.
Random crap...it's my speciality ;)

Movie Review: The Strangers
For the newbies, you might find some things below to be spoiler-ey. I try to put true spoilers in secret decoder mouse mode, but you never know. Caveat read-or.
Cute Persons to look at (0-5): 2
Yep, I'm gonna go with a 2. The lead chick is Liv Tyler, whom I think is quite attractive.
For the girls...the main guy squeeze is Scott Speedman. He's totally a fencesitter for me--I'm not really feeling him, but I know that if I were at a party and he turned out to be nice or smart or funny, I would probably fall deeply in like with him.
Plus he's Canadian (sigh). And we all know how I feel about that.
That's really it. Honestly, there are really only the 2 of them in the movie. There are a few creepy people and a best dude friend, but the above choices are pretty much it!
A Satisfying Ending (0-5): 1. Booooo. Seriously--like I've said a million times, I get enough uncertainty in my real life. I like my movies to be wrapped up nicely at the end with a big giant bow on top.
Maybe there'll be a sequel, but I just don't care. Grrrr. Not a bad ending, just not one that makes me happy. And, since it's an M-ocracy here, I get to make all the rules ;)
Action/adventureness (0-5): 3. Decent! Good action, good running around and stuff. I like.
Love storyness (0-5): 3. I'm going to give it a 3. You can see that the leads really do care for each other, which is really nice to see.
Good Scaryness (0-5): 3. Some pretty good scenes that made me jump and cover my eyes. The psych-out factor was pretty well done.
Kissing (0-5): 2. A 2 only because there wasn't enough of it. I like lots of kissing in my movies--lots and lots of it. There's a decent make out scene, although it was interruptus-ed, which is kind of a bummer. Still, all in all, good.
Cinematography/Special Effects (1-5): 3. Pretty good. Well shot, interesting camera angles, different things to look at, good creepy surprises.
Extra Credit: None that I can think of.
Total: 17/35. Worth seeing if you like scary movies. If it had had a big red bow on top, I think I would have really liked it. I was left with the "but..why..and what about?" at the end, which isn't my favorite, but all in all, it was pretty good.

Everyone say hi to Patrick
He's new.
"Hi Patrick"
There, now you have to fend for yourself. And The Eh Team* is a pretty tough opponent, so....
:)
*(The A Team theme song is stuck in your heads now, isn't it? You're welcome)

I think I'm done fooling around for the night, so
after changing a bunch of stuff (including editing actual html, at which I am a total novice), if I've made anything unreadable, just let me know and I'll fix it.
A lot of the fooling was to make links open in a new window, because I think it's annoying when they don't. However, you can always right-click and ask it to open in a new window if it's not working right.
And then tell me so I can fight with it some more.
For example, why can I make the music links pop open using target="a_blank", but other links (like Jeffrey Dean Morgan) cease to work at all if I use that (unless you right click)?
Canada? Any suggestions?

Also a Guestmap
Click on View My Guestmap at the very bottom. I'm not sure I'm going to keep it, so we'll see...
If you wish to stick your pin the map, feel free to use a fake name (or initials or whatever), but the 2 required fields seem to be Name and Comments.
Lemme know if it's interesting enough to keep...

Something new-->
I've added a "What Happened This Day In History?" block to the very bottom of Mairzydoats. It's right under the ticker.
I guess I'm assuming you guys can see the ticker?? Let me know if you can see the History.

Based on my counter, I suspect I have
NEW READERS!
Welcome new readers!
Let's see, what should you know? Um...I use random acronyms a lot (like HCY* and BIL*). I also am having an early to mid 30s love affair with the asterisk. Many of my posts are tagged--just click the tags at the bottom to see related posts. (Well, at least posts I feel are related).
Additionally, things like snarky comments, stories about the free tampons that HCY bizarrely provides as a perk, or posts that contain trivia point giveaways will occasionally require the use of your secret decoder mouse.
What's a secret decoder mouse? Oh just fool around a little, you'll figure it out.
I've also got a myspace, you know, like the rest of the Starbucks (Tim Hortons?)-drinking world.
*Healthcare Company Y, where I currently work. As opposed to Healthcare Company X, where I spent the first 10 years of my working life.
*Brother-in-Law. Of which I onyl have 2. One of which feeds me most of my good Google crap.
